Control Technology Development

Jump to Project

The Clean Air Act Amendments created requirements for extensive evaluation, selection, and installation of air pollution control technology or work practices for industrial source categories for criteria and hazardous air pollutants. ENSR has worked with major trade organizations from the EPA pre-proposal stage to the final rules. We ensure that the most representative data is considered and that true costs are evaluated from a practical industry standpoint, while compliance monitoring requirements are reasonable.

We've worked with individual facilities to develop flexible cost-effective alternatives to reference technologies, as well as, deferrals and exemptions from compliance through process changes. Our air quality engineers use the largest and latest databases to quickly develop control technology options and strategies that minimize bottom-line impact.

Control Technology Project

For a major aerospace corporation, ENSR designed and directed the implementation of a major pollution control project. ENSR inventoried VOC emissions, developed innovative control strategies, designed control technology, prepared vendor bid specifications, evaluation and selection, prepared permit applications, and managed equipment installation and compliance testing, resulting in a $10 million cost savings for the corporation
