Refineries & Chemical Plants

ENSR is a leader in providing environmental services to refinery operations. ENSR staff have completed projects ranging from permitting strategies through process engineering and design, and have included feasibility studies, air quality permitting (control technology analyses, dispersion modeling, monitoring, and more), water quality analyses and permitting, storm water management, Resource Conservation and Recovery analyses, Toxic Substances Control Act, industrial health and safety monitoring and OSHA audits, and a wide range of other specialized services. 

On behalf of the Western States Petroleum Association, ENSR environmental consultants developed pioneering studies on the health effects of benzene, butadiene, and other compounds of interest to the oil and gas industry.

ENSR has also provided a wide range of services to an array of chemical plants, including petrochemical, specialty chemical, industrial chemical, and other unique facilities. As with many chemical facilities, the operations and unit specifications for any one facility are unique, requiring special expertise and a "teaming" of the ENSR staff with client staff to fully address environmental issues. Our consulting  expertise includes process engineering, and environmental permitting of air, water, solid waste, and hazardous waste.
